About

In 1929, Metairie Club Gardens was founded to provide residents with one of the safest and most desirable neighborhoods in the state.

Metairie Club Gardens members become fast friends and families stay for generations.

Metairie Club Gardens is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, volunteer managed association organized to improve our neighborhood's safe, quiet, family friendly ambiance, to facilitate good relations with commercial interests, to promote historic preservation, improve the aesthetic maintenance of the neighborhood, to promote neighborliness, support civic activities, be an instrument of political liaison, represent the views and interest of its members to elected officials, city services, police, media, commercial and business entities, and with other neighborhood associations and community organizations. It is funded by annual membership and security dues. The Board is elected by the members who reside or own property within Metairie Club Garden’s boundaries.

Property values are enhanced by our standards set forth in the Old Metairie Neighborhood Conservation District Commission (OMC). Guidelines are set by Parish standards to protect the overbuilding and green space that are characteristics that make MCG so attractive. The OMC serves as an Advisory Board to review proposed projects, representing neighbors by upholding the character and density of residential parcels. Protecting our trees is a major focus. Landscaping our signature landmark, the Northline “Avenue of Oaks” is a fine example of the spirit of cooperation we enjoy.
